

The Community of Curtis Bay Association, Inc. (CCBA) has been in existence for over 60 years. In November of 2003, our Association became a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization. Our goal is to help improve the quality of life for all residents and businesses in Curtis Bay, clean up the street and alleys of crime and grime, beautifying the neighborhood, providing fun and educational events for families and youth, and working to eliminate our environmental issues relating to land, air, and water pollution. Our Association meetings are held the second Thursday of the month, except February and August, at 7:00PM at the Curtis Bay Recreation Center, located at 1630 Filbert St. and Curtis Avenue. All residents of Curtis Bay are welcome to join our Association for only $5.00 per year. Associate Members (Non-Voting), businesses, and non-residents, may join for $10.00 per year. Curtis Bay is looking for more homeowners! We have affordable housing in Curtis Bay, to include individual homes and row houses built in the late 1800's all the way up to homes more recently built. Renters, if you are tired of renting, you may qualify for one of the Arundel Habitat for Humanity homes in the area by calling 410-384-9212. We welcome Arundel Habitat to our neighborhood. More retail businesses are also needed in our neighborhood.
YEAR 2007 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
* Donated funding to Curtis Bay Recreation Center Summer Camp and Halloween Party.
* Donated funding to Curtis Bay Elementary School for their "Fun Day", and other events.
* Participated in 2 large community cleanups along with residents, businesses, and churches.
Also, had 6 smaller cleanups as well.
* Had Community Service workers do weekly cleanups of Poe Park and some other streets in
in Curtis Bay.
* Added more details to murals on Curtis Avenue.
* Participated in the Brooklyn/Curtis Bay Parade.
* Citizens on Patrol walks.
* Purchase and installation of a reader board on the Curtis Bay Recreation Center.
* Continued to work on Environmental issues in our neighborhood.
* Fairhaven Avenue repaved and made ONE WAY with a bicycle lane added.
* Planted trees in the 3900 and 3800 Fairhaven Avenue.
* Planted flowers in the 4 large planters in the 4800 and 4900 block of Curtis Avenue
* Purchasef 5 new Spring/Summer Banners for the 4800/4900 blocks of Curtis Avenue.
* Presented our Fourth annual daytime event, Curtis Bay Summer Fest" in August 2007 in Poe
Park in Curtis Bay, featuring Bruce Gavin, Singer and had Karaoke Contests.
* Provided free T-shirts and 130 families with school supplies
* Presented our Sixth Annual "Curtis Bay's Night Out at the Movies" in Poe Park showing
"Happy Feet".
* Continued to work closely on a day to day basis with the Baltimore City Police, the Baltimore
Housing Dept., the Mayor's Office, State Attorneys Office and our elected officials, Councilman Edward L. Reisinger, Senator George Della, State Delegate Brian McHale, State Delegate Carolyn Krysiak, and State Delegate Peter Hammen, to reduce crime and improve the housing quality in Curtis Bay.
* Had Toy and canned goods drive.
* Provided both Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets to those families in need.
* Held a Children's Christmas party called "Santa's Magical Christmas Party" which featured a Magician and, of course, Santa Claus. Every child, approximately 180 who attended, received a toy.
* Christmas Shopping spree for 10 children at Walmart ($1,000.00 total amount).
* Installed new flower bed around Welcome to Curtis Bay sign in 1400 block of Church St.
* Continued to work on Sanitation, Housing, and Crime issues.
* Worked on obtaining a Marine Charter High School in the neighborhood. This project will continue throughout 2008.
